2.1 UI/UX Enhancements

2.1.1 New Activity Matrix with Process Framework Capabilities

In the continuous journey of enhancing the user experience of our product, we have introduced a brand-new version of the Activity Matrix. The new Activity Matrix provides you a holistic view of your practices, phases and activities, and their association with each other on a grid. Also, it comes with Process Framework capabilities that help you perform different operations like setup the practices, phases and activities as per the need.

Note: The Process Framework menu has been renamed to Activity Matrix.

2.2 Usability Enhancements

2.2.1 Groom Different Types of Workitems Together in the Backlog

Earlier, you could select only one workitem type, for example User Stories, in the Backlog section of the Agile Backlog Grooming to groom its instances. From now on, you can select multiple workitem types like User Stories, Defects, Adhoc Work, etc. and groom their instances at the same time.

2.2.2 Know the Parent Card of a Todo/Task in the Timesheet

Earlier, the ToDos/Tasks (against which you need to log time) used to appear directly under the Project name in the Timesheet with no context of the parent workitem (User Story or Workpackage) to which the ToDo or Task belonged.  From now on, these ToDos and Tasks belonging to a work package will appear under their parent workitem. This will help to identify a ToDo/Task by its parent workitem and log time against it.

2.2.3 Renamed Application Areas

For better specificity, we have renamed the following areas of the application  –

2.3 Important Announcement

2.3.1 End of Support for Old Activity Matrix

The old Activity Matrix will not be available effective from 1st April 2022 in the application. You are requested to use this time to get accustomed to the New Activity Matrix that we have introduced in this release.

3.1.1 Functional Impact due to New Activity Matrix

• Old Activity Matrix menu has been deprecated.
• The Process Framework menu has been renamed to Activity Matrix.
• Only the activities belonging to the last level child of a practice or phase will be seen on the grid.

7. Annexure 1: Release Compatibility

Release Compatibility: SwiftEnterprise 9.0.0 and above means, while upgrading an existing customer installation of SwiftEnterprise, you will consider following –

7.1      Upgrading the database component

1. If your current release is prior to SwiftEnterprise 9.0.0, then you must upgrade the database by running DB.EXE for all the interim releases up to SwiftEnterprise 9.0.0.
2. Once you have reached 9.0.0 version, you can directly run SwiftEnterprise 9.8.0 DB.EXE
3. If your current release is SwiftEnterprise 9.0.0 or above, you can directly run SwiftEnterprise 9.8.0 DB.EXE

7.2      Upgrading the WildFly component

1. Make deployment as mentioned in the ReadME.pdf, present in the SwiftEnterprise 9.8.0 release folder.
2. If your current release is SwiftEnterprise 9.7.0, then follow the deployment impact present in this release document.
3. If your current release is prior to SwiftEnterprise 9.7.0, you must apply the deployment impacts mentioned in all the interim releases up to SwiftEnterprise 9.7.0. Once that is done, then follow the deployment impact present in this release document.

7.3      MSP Plugin Version

The MSP Plugin Version is not tied to release compatibility. It is changed whenever there are fixes or enhancements in the plugin code. The MSP plugin version is mentioned in the Release Summary section of the Release Notes. We append ‘updated’ tag to the version number if there is a change in the plugin version shipped in the previous SwiftEnterprise release.
