Digite strongly believes the potential role today’s social media can play in business communication and productivity improvement. To encourage better collaboration and team-work, we have embraced these new methods of communication and offered integration with the popular micro blogging tool Twitter in Digité Enterprise!
Twitter introduces a new concept in online communication- Micro blogging. Contrary to traditional blogs, or even text messages or Instant messaging, a micro blog through Twitter has text communication that is limited to 140 characters. Users have become habitual of micro blogs to send quick messages for communicating status (partly due to character limit). These short bursts of conversations are now available for enhanced collaboration between project team members.
With Digite Enterprise ‘Twitter’ integration, the project team members can now get ‘Tweet-ed’ on various project items by setting up their notification plan appropriately. In Digite Enterprise, the Project Manager should ensure that all team members have their Twitter account name added in their profiles. Project Manager can then set up a private Twitter account for project, and team members need to follow this new Project Twitter account.
Project Manager (or team members) can define a notification plan and set an option to receive tweets as any selected event occurs in the project. For example, a team member can define a notification event to receive tweet when a new defect is logged in the project or receive a tweet when there are more than three critical issues in the project that needs attention.

Users receive tweets from the project account whenever the predefined event occurs. This tweet includes condensed details for the event and a shortened URL to Digite Enterprise. The link in the tweet directs the user into Digite Enterprise project.

Since people access Twitter messages using mobile devices and PCs, it allows users to receive project messages from any Twitter-enabled device such as, the iPhone as well as popular desktop applications like TweetDeck, DestroyTwitter, Twhirl, etc.
The integration of Twitter with Digité Enterprise opens up a new world of possibilities in the area of project collaboration.
