Eclipse Mylyn Integration

Digite's Eclipse Adapter is the out-of-the-box integration with Eclipse IDE in version Ver. 5.3 of its flagship product Digité Enterprise.

Digite The Eclipse Adapter is aimed at enhancing the productivity of developer communities of Digite's customers by providing them the flexibility to manage all work assigned to them right within Eclipse IDE. With this capability, Digite further enhances its end-to-end integrated Application Lifecycle Management capability from Requirements all the way through Code, including end-to-end traceability.
Seamless Integration for End-to-end Traceability

As a new-generation ALM vendor, Digité has long provided an integrated application for managing all development artifacts - from user requirements to design to code to test cases and scripts, defects and change requests. With the introduction of the Eclipse Adapter, developers will no longer need to switch between their IDE and Digite, to access task/ requirement/ defect details from Digite and work within Eclipse to work on those items in terms of coding and unit testing and later switch back to Digite to log their effort and progress against the work-items.

The Digite - Eclipse adapter provides a seamless interface to Digite artifacts directly from Eclipse's Mylyn interface. It allows developers to view/ modify all their Digite work-items such as requirements/ tasks/ defects or user stories (in the case of agile projects), access document attachments and review/ post comments linked to the work-items and finally report progress against those in the Digite Timesheet, without leaving their Eclipse IDE window. In essence, developers can do almost all of their work within the Eclipse interface and don't need to switch between the two applications, saving a lot of time and enhancing their productivity substantially.

Focus on Developer Experience and Productivity

Overall, the tight integration between Digite, Eclipse and Subversion lets the development team:

• Define and manage requirements, tasks, defects and other work-items in Digite
• Allows access to those within Eclipse IDE using Digite-Eclipse plug-in, alongside the code and
• Lets you commit the added/ modified code in to the code repository using Digite-SVN adapter.

This allows maintaining end-to-end traceability in Digite between all the key artifacts of the application development lifecycle and gives a unified view of the application development status, as shown below.
