CloudSpec - Requirements Management on Cloud

CloudSpec from Digite is a light yet powerful Requirements Management tool that enables you to build and manage Requirements collaboratively and effectively on the cloud!

CloudSpec is the latest addition to Digite’s Agile ALM suite of products that provide technology team end-to-end visibility, collaboration capability, and high usability.

CloudSpec packs in a surprising amount of punch with  features that you would usually expect much more expensive and “sophisticated” requirements management tools to have.  However, CloudSpec was developed keeping in mind the complexity of using these traditional tools, with a clear vision of a tool that provided all the required capability, but with none of the complexity (and cost!) associated with those tools!

What is the Problem?

When  you analyze your software projects for problem areas, you are likely to see the following issues: -

Missed & Misinterpreted Requirements

  • You did not notice the Requirements till it was too late or your development teams misinterpreted the Requirements

Lack of Change Control

  • Requirements kept on changing late into the project

Lack of Change Impact Analysis

  • No visibility into the impact of changing a Requirement

Lack of Change Propagation.

  • No way to ensure that a changed Requirements has been communicated to downstream stakeholders

Lack of visibility into Project progress and potential troublespots

  • No way to identify missed Requirements , incomplete Requirements till its too late

Lack of clearly defined ownership of Requirements

  • Requirements fell through the cracks.

What is CloudSpec ?

Flexible, Light weight and Powerful
CloudSpec is a Requirements Management solution that is designed from ground up to be flexible, light weight and powerful. It differs from the existing players like Requisite Pro, Doors and Rally because it has a built in Business Intelligence system that identifies trouble spots and points them out before they become show stoppers.

CloudSpec is designed to be flexible, so it can be used for Agile or Waterfall development methodologies.

CloudSpec is feature rich, so when you start out , you don’t’ have to use all the features. You can start with a few features that matter to you and over time adopt advanced features.

Key Features:

Missed & Misinterpreted Requirements

At every stage of the Project, how do you know that all the Requirements are addressed. Eg : Do all Business Requirements have a Functional Requirement, Do All Functional Requirements have a test case etc…

CloudSpec has  a built in Business Intelligence system that identifies the trouble spots before they become a big problem.

Change Management

Requirements are organized into Folders in CloudSpec. You can control who can create, read, update, delete, approve, trace Requirements in any folder.

Once your Requirements are mature and stable,  you can lock them down, to control change.

Before a change is considered, it may help to analyze its impact on other Requirements in the system. CloudSpec gives an easy to use, CIA feature, that traverses across projects in the system to show you the impact of changing a Requirement.

As Requirements change, we need a way to ensure that all the stakeholders (both upstream and downstream) are aware of the change and have accepted and internalized it.

CloudSpec provides a visual and reportable confirmation of this propagation and acceptance.

Intelligent Reports and Dashboards

Clear Ownership!

If a Requirements Management tool does not have a OTTC (One Throat To Choke) concept, then Requirements tend to fall through the ownership cracks.

To prevent that, CloudSpec ensures that every Requirement has an owner and that every owner gets his own dashboard and reports.

Integration with Word, Excel and PDF

Other Important Features

Cross Project Connectivity

  • You can relate Requirements in project to another project’s Requirements.

Built in Document Control System

  • At any point in the project’s progress, you can snapshot any report and save it as a word, pdf, excel document in a document control system for audit purposes.

Shared Requirements

  • You can publish a set of well defined Requirements, that can then be imported and implemented in other projects. As a publisher of Requirements you can track their development progress across multiple projects.

Web Services API

  • CloudSpec comes with a rich set of JSON (XML), REST APIs for integrating with your existing systems
