Digité hosts meet on Global Delivery Model

Digité, Inc, along with the Mumbai chapter of Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN) today hosted an experts’ meet and panel discussion to discuss the challenges faced by organizations utilizing the Global Delivery Model (GDM), and to share thoughts on the best practices. The panel comprised of Mr. Parag Saigaonkar, MD, Deloite Consulting Offshore Technology Group (DCOTG); Mr. K. Ragunathan, Exec. VP, Bluestar Infotech; Mr. Vinay Thaly, Director (Consulting Services), CGI; and Dr. Ramesh Patil, CTO, Digité, Inc.

Global Delivery Model has emerged as the dominant force in the industry, and led to the rise of offshore global outsourcing. This has gained widespread acceptance as a crucial aspect of business strategy. Offshore outsourcing is the core aspect of GDM, and has been increasingly used by successful companies worldwide as a great value multiplier.

Mr. Saigaonkar talked about the future of Global Delivery Model which is now positioned to be accepted and applied to management consulting too. “Indian companies are using their strengths in GDM to get into Management Consulting. Companies already entrenched in Management Consulting services are using GDM to enhance their offerings,” said Parag, highlighting the future path of Indian consulting majors into the league of the “Big 5” consulting companies

Dr. Ramesh Patil talked about how products of Digité Enterprise genre can be used to address the challenges of GDM that the panel talked about. “Companies should work towards aggregating and globalizing their processes first before they can touch upon other aspects of GDM (Labour, Vendor Management),” said Dr. Patil.
