Digité participates in SPM-ICON 2005

Digité was the gold sponsor of SPM-ICON 2005 held in Bangalore during 17th – 20th May. The International Conference on Practical Software Project Management was aimed to bring together the Executives, Project and portfolio managers, PMO heads and experts willing to share knowledge and best practices in project management for the common good of the community of practitioners.

Dr. Ramesh Patil, CTO, talked about Project and Process Automation and why it was crucial for IT service companies in a changing scenario. Dr. Patil said that there is a growing need for increasing services delivery efficiencies, reduce costs, maintain and grow margins, all while continuing to be on the leading edge of technology. This has made automating project and process management a necessity in services delivery that is a daunting task at the enterprise level

Dr. Patil discussed the business and technology factors driving the need for automation, the process of acquisition of such a solution, the implementation methodology for the solution and the key lessons learnt. He called for a platform that integrated all the aspects of IT service delivery and elucidated how such an integrated PPM platform helps in IT Governance:
