Global Delivery Model is the buzzword

A few weeks back I was part of a conference with a few executives who were talking about the IT challenges and vision at General Motors (GM), and we talked about outsourcing governance, multi-sourcing, and many such jargons. I realized that the whole paradigm of IT Outsourcing, On-shoring and Off-Shoring is poised for shift. Organizations are seeking avenues to get the best of the world in terms of cost, quality and time to the market by working out a model amongst various vendors and global pool of resource talent. Sure you would have heard of it, I am talking about Global Delivery Model (GDM).
Global Delivery Model has been professed as the emerging trend not only in the IT Consulting space but also within the IT Services and Corporate IT domain. In the time to come, this is going to raise the distributed nature of software development or application maintenance to a new level where vendors wont compete against each other but will have to learn to collaborate within the context of regular challenges of cultural divide, processes, visibility, and above all INTEGRATION.

At Digité, we have brainstormed about it and Digité’s Universal Process Framework assists organizations to:
First, take care of their Process Institutionalization (methodologies, software development processes, best practices and intellectual property (i.e., proven solution sets) within the context of project management) and
In the process, prepare them for the challenges of Global Delivery Model that would include on-site, onshore, nearshore and offshore resources.
There are lots that are available out-of-the-box but most importantly we have built a framework that guides you to model YOUR processes. You would benefit by enhancing your process expertise and garner higher business-value relationships and compete effectively to win businesses.
IT Strategies take longer time to align with your Business Maxims so if Global Delivery Model is one of your business objectives then you must have had the initial discussions already within your team as to what you need to stand among the best.
